  • Is a patch test required?
Yes, Undergoing a patch test before laser hair removal is imperative and every clinic should do this for you before booking you in for treatment. It will indicate whether or not you are likely to have a reaction to the treatment and will reveal if your skin is sensitive.
  • When is it safe to have another laser treatment for hair removal?
This varies from patient to patient. Removing hair often requires a series of laser treatments. Most patients can have laser hair removal once every 4 to 6 weeks. Your dermatologist will tell you when it is safe to have another treatment. Most patients see some hair regrowth. Your dermatologist can tell you when you can safely have laser treatments to maintain the results.
  • What happens during laser hair removal?
Before the treatment, the area to be treated will be cleansed. Some patients receive a numbing gel. Numbing the area to be treated helps when a small area will be treated and the skin is very sensitive. It takes about 30 to 60 minutes for a numbing gel to work. The laser treatment will take place in a room set up specifically for laser treatments. Everyone in the room must wear protective eyewear during the procedure. To perform the procedure, the skin is held taut and the skin is treated with the laser. Many patients say that the laser pulses feel like warm pinpricks or a rubber band being snapped against the skin. A laser removes hair by vaporizing it. This causes small plumes of smoke that have a sulfur-like smell. How long your treatment lasts depends on the size of the area being treated. Treating the upper lip takes minutes. If you are having a large area like the back or legs treated, your treatment may last more than an hour.
  • What must I do after getting laser hair removal?
To avoid possible side effects, all patients need to protect their skin from the sun. After laser hair removal, you should: Avoid direct sunlight from hitting your treated skin. Not use a tanning bed, sun lamp, or any other indoor tanning equipment. Follow your dermatologist’s after-care instructions. You will see some redness and swelling after treatment. This often looks like a mild sunburn. Applying a cool compress can help reduce your discomfort.
  • Is there downtime?
No, laser hair removal generally does not require any real downtime. Immediately after having laser hair removal, your treated skin will be red and swollen. Despite this, most people return to their everyday activities.
  • When will I see the results after having laser hair removal?
You will likely see the results immediately after treatment. The results vary from patient to patient. The color and thickness of your hair, area treated, type of laser used, and color of your skin all affect the results. You can expect a 10% to 25% reduction in hair after the first treatment. To remove the hair, most patients need 2 to 6 laser treatments. After finishing the treatments, most patients do not see any hair on the treated skin for several months or even years. When the hair regrows, there tends to be less of it. The hairs also tend to be finer and lighter in color.
  • How long will the results of laser hair removal last?
Most patients remain hair free for months or even years. When some of the hair regrows, it will likely be less noticeable. To keep the area free of hair, a patient may need maintenance laser treatments.
  • What are the possible side effects?
The most common side effects are minor and last 1 to 3 days. These side effects include: Discomfort Swelling Redness Other possible side effects are rare when laser hair removal is performed by a dermatologist or under the dermatologist’s direct supervision. Other possible side effects include: Blistering Herpes simplex (cold sores) outbreaks Infections Scarring Skin lightening or darkening In time, skin color tends to return to normal. Some changes to skin color, however, are permanent. This is why seeing a medical doctor who is skilled in laser treatments and has in-depth knowledge of the skin is so important. It is also important to follow your dermatologist’s instructions. Following both the before-treatment instructions and after-treatment instructions will greatly reduce your risk of side effects.
  • How many treatments will i need?
We usually advise a minimum of 6-10 treatments will be necessary, usually around 4-8 weeks apart. However this does vary from person to person depending on the size of the tattoo, the colours involved and the depth of the ink. We will be able to design a specific treatment plan for you at your consultation.
  • Does it hurt?
The treatment itself produces a slight stinging sensation, which can be uncomfortable but subsides following treatment. Patients have reported that the sensation is similar to that of an elastic band being pinged against the skin. However it is not a painful treatment.
  • Is there any post-treatment procedures i need to follow?
We advise wearing a high SPF on the area to protect it from sun exposure. We recommend Heliocare SPF 50. In the 24 hours following treatment you should avoid sun exposure entirely. We also advised that you keep hydrated.
  • How does laser tattoo removal work?
It order to explain how laser tattoo removal works you first need to understand how the tattoo itself is formed. Inks are injected deep into the skin, and the blobs form a pattern or design. These individual ink blobs subsequently are encapsulated by the body’s own defence system making them inactive and ‘permanent’. Though there are other methods of tattoo removal, such as creams and surgery, laser tattoo removal is regarded as one of the safest and most effective methods for removing unwanted ink. Laser tattoo removal works by a laser penetrating the deep layers of the skin with an intense light. Energy pulses from the laser are fired in fractions-of-a-second into the skin, targeting the ink blobs found in the deep layers. This process breaks up the ink particles, which are then passed through the body, leading to the tattoo fading. When the procedure is performed by a qualified practitioner, such as those at Skin Medical, the laser energy is harmless, as it only targets the skin that contains the ink pigments, which are then removed by the body’s own immune system. Similar to IPL laser treatment, the Active Q-Switch Nd Yag laser uses short bursts of light energy.
  • What Are the Side Effects of Laser Tattoo Removal?
Following laser tattoo removal treatment, it is common to see redness and swelling on the surrounding skin. This usually subsides within a few hours of treatment. It is also common to see hypopigmentation, or temporary lightening, of the skin. Skin color usually returns to normal within about two weeks.
  • Does Laser Tattoo Removal Leave a Scar?
If you don’t follow the proper aftercare instructions, you could see some scarring. If your skin develops burns or blisters, resist the urge to pick or pop them, as this is the easiest way to create a scar. Most people see no scars after treatment. The better the body’s immune system, the faster you’ll heal and the less likely you are to have any scars.
  • Does Laser Tattoo Removal Cause Blistering or Bruising?
It is common to see some bruising within the hours immediately following treatment, but that usually subsides quickly. As the skin starts to heal, you may also see blistering. Do not pop them. Popping blisters can cause scabs, cause scarring, and increase the likelihood of infection.
  • What is Microblading?
Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type and skincare routine. The procedure is done by using a hand tool with ultra fine needles and each 'hair' is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone will also be taken into consideration.
  • How long does it take?
For the first Microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5-3 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure. The client is to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place after 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete.
  • How long does it take to heal?
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.
  • Is the touch up session necessary?
Yes! A touch up session after 4-6 weeks is necessary as everyone heals differently and outcome will vary. Certain areas may not pick up during first session and will need to be refilled. Pigment color may need to be adjusted, brow thickness and more strokes can be added. Individuals with oily skin often require a deeper shade during the touch up session as the oils tend to lighten the pigment. Most importantly, your touch up session is when we refine your brows to ensure it looks perfect and retains the color for the whole year!
  • Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks?
Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 4 weeks after initial microblading session as pigment color has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.
  • Is it painful?
The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but not aspirin or ibuprofen.
  • How long does it last?
Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.
  • What are the pre and post care procedures?
In order to achieve the best results, it is best to follow the pre and post care instructions. Prior to your procedure, clients are advised of the following: Avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen and any vitamins that may thin your blood for 72 hours. Avoid tanning so we can assess your natural skin tone. No face scrubs or chemical peels at least two weeks prior. Feel free to come in with their brow makeup on so our technician can see your every day look you prefer. Reference pictures of shapes and colors of brows are always welcomed. We will then work together to create the perfect brows! After your procedure, clients MUST follow these instructions: Within 2 hours after the procedure, clean brows using a q-tip and lightly moisten with distilled or cooled downed boiling water. Gently wipe away the old healing balm and any lymphatic liquid (clear yellowish liquid) that may have built up. Lightly pat dry with tissue and using a new q-tip, re-apply healing balm to the brows. Make sure to apply a light layer of healing balm morning and night to brows for at least 5-7 days. Do not over apply healing balm. Do not immerse brow area in water for 14 days. When showering, make sure to avoid face area. When cleaning or washing face, make sure to avoid brows and clean around it. Do not put makeup on the brow area for a minimum of 10 days. Microbladed area is an open wound, using makeup may cause infections. Avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen and any vitamins that may thin your blood for 24 hours. Brow area will feel slightly itchy as it heals and will start to lightly scab over. Do not peel or pick at the scabs as this can affect the outcome and pigmentation. Do not go swimming, tanning or into saunas for at least 14 days. No face scrubs or chemical peels at least 2 weeks after.
  • Who is not suitable for the procedure?
Microblading is not suitable for the following candidates: Using Accutane Have heart conditions or using heart medications Have diabetes (will require a physician's note) Have skin disease or irritations Have had Botox in the last 2 weeks Have gotten a deep tan or chemical peels in the last 2 weeks Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note. Pregnant or nursing clients who want to microblade can be done at your own discretion. We suggest discussing with your doctor first. Microblading is still considered a tattoo, and just like with wine or sushi consumption, it is a personal choice to do so during this period. * We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who we deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason. Our brow technicians make the decision to microblade an individual based on their own discretion. *
  • What is the difference between micro blading and micro shading?
Microshading uses pin-like dots of pigmentation to achieve a powdered eyebrow look.Microblading uses a bladed needle to apply pigmentation underneath the skin. The technician fills your brows by making hair-like strokes that look like natural eyebrow hair.
  • What is Lip Blush?
It is a lip tattoo that enhances and defines your lips. It can help enhance and even out natural color, or add color if you are lacking any pigment. Your lips will look darker and more like lipstick on the first day, and soften as they heal to become a subtle, natural looking lip tint. Apply a little gloss or balm and your lips are perfectly kissable!
  • HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Results will always vary from person to person, after your initial session and the touch up, your results should last between 2-5 years. Additional touch ups may be required depending on the person and look desired. Permanent makeup ink is not the same as body art ink, and by design it does not last as long as body art ink.
  • WHAT TO EXPECT?
There will be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 5 days. Apply a Ziploc bag filled with water and ice for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling. During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. Expect the color to eventually lighten by up to 40% once the healing process is complete. Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.
  • DOES LIP BLUSHING HURT?
Pain levels vary from person to person. Strong medical grade topical anesthetic cream is used before and during your procedure to keep you as pain free as possible.
  • HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
The procedure takes about 2 hours. The consolation and prep work take a good portion of that time. I want to make after we have discussed your concerns and I've drawn out a shape that we are both on the same page before I start the procedure. Once we are both happy I will apply numbing cream for 20-30 mins then we will start the process. During that time the non toxic ink can get in your mouth which doesn't taste the best, but is ingestible and non toxic.
  • WILL I STILL HAVE TO WEAR LIPSTICK? AND CAN OTHER COLORS STILL LOOK THE SAME ON TOP?
This is up to the look each individual is trying to achieve. The colors I tattoo with are natural and intended to look very natural. We can certainly enhance your natural color or add color if your lacking, or add a specific tint that your looking for, but it remains soft and natural. That way when you do decide to change it up and want to wear lipstick it will still look great over top, and can cover you tattoo with whatever color we decide to use.

  • What Is Permanent Eyeliner?
Permanent eyeliner is an alternative to drawing on your eyeliner each day before leaving the house, which can be a tedious and time-consuming process — especially if you don’t have the steadiest hand. It’s a cosmetic treatment that involves tattooing pigment along the lash line to mimic the look of regular eyeliner and it can be done in a variety of styles and colors.
  • How Is Permanent Eyeliner Performed?
Before the tattooing starts, you and your artist will discuss your eyeliner goals and sketch out an idea of what the final product will look like. This will be based on your anatomy, personal style and lifestyle. During this consultation, you and your artist will discuss and make any necessary adjustments before beginning. We describe the sensation of getting permanent eyeliner as “more annoying than it is uncomfortable,” but says there are steps that can be taken, such as applying a topical numbing cream, to help minimize the feeling. Depending on the style of eyeliner you and your artist choose, Ricciardone says that active tattooing can take anywhere from 45 minutes to three hours. After your first appointment, your artist will provide you with aftercare instructions and ask you to come back for a touch-up within the next few months (10 to 15 weeks) in order to finalize the shape and fill in any gaps. As with other types of tattoos, the touch-up appointment is necessary because the color normally fades after the first session.
  • How Long Does Permanent Eyeliner Last?
Permanent eyeliner is indeed permanent, but you will likely need another touch-up two to five years after your first application. Your skin type, lifestyle and UV exposure are all factors that can affect the longevity of your liner. Make sure to apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to prevent UV rays from fading your permanent makeup (though you should already be wearing SPF every day, anyway).
  • What Styles of Permanent Eyeliner Can I Get?
There are a few different styles of permanent eyeliner to choose from. Ultimately, though, your [permanent] eyeliner style is largely dependent on your eye shape and skin. Even though permanent eyeliner can be done to mimic the look of makeup, it is more limited than makeup when it comes to application. Your artist should be able to determine a shape that will work best for your anatomy and your desired look — as well as help you come up with something that you won’t regret a few years down the road. Some examples of style options include winged eyeliner, lash enhancement and shaded liner. We recommend considering trends and what styles will continue to wear well with time.
  • What Are the Risks of Permanent Eyeliner?
When done improperly, permanent eyeliner can appear misshapen and the color can migrate. It can also have more severe physical risks, such as damage to the skin’s tissue. If you’re ever concerned with your permanent makeup results, reach out to a board-certified dermatologist or other healthcare provider. It is extremely important when considering any permanent makeup treatment to work with an experienced professional, one whose work is something you can clearly assess, A truly skilled artist will provide you with quality work designed for you. Check out your artist’s Yelp reviews, Instagram page and certification before getting started on any cosmetic tattooing procedures. Most permanent makeup artists will have not just an esthetician’s license, but a specific certification in order to perform permanent makeup.
  • What Is the Aftercare for Permanent Eyeliner?
Swelling is normal within the first 12 to 24 hours after getting permanent eyeliner. For the first night and the morning following, she recommends wiping down the eye area with antiseptic wipes, which your makeup artist should provide. On the second day, she says to wipe down the directed area twice — morning and night. We recommend keeping the area moist with a thin layer of a gentle ointment (not a petroleum- or mineral-based ointment), applied throughout the day with a clean cotton swab. Ask your makeup artist or dermatologist for suggestions on what products are safe for this sensitive area. Do not let the area dry out and crack, keep it moist at all times, Do not press or rub when applying ointment. We advise that too much ointment can cause the permanent eyeliner to fade, so you only need a thin layer — a little bit goes a long way in this case. In the first five days after the procedure, treat the eye area very delicately. Do not touch, peel, rub or otherwise tamper with the liner, as this can cause the color to fade and slow the healing process. Abstain from any physical activity that causes extreme sweating, and do not let sweat, water, lotion, makeup or bodily fluids near the eye area. This means skipping eye makeup and skincare around the eye area during this time. Refrain from using a sauna, hot tub or pool for two weeks. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and petroleum-based products, and do not curl your lashes in the first two weeks post-procedure. After the first two weeks, continue to avoid sun exposure until at least a month has passed since your appointment. You should also avoid forms of exfoliation (including using glycolic or fruit acids around the eye area) as well as alcohol, salt and saline during the first month.
  • What is Carbon Laser Facial?
The carbon laser facial, also known as the “China Doll” or “Hollywood Peel,” fuses leading-edge laser technology with potent carbon application to revitalize and refresh the skin. This innovative procedure is non-invasive, requiring little downtime, making it a popular choice for those seeking rapid, noticeable improvements in their complexion. The treatment process is straightforward: a layer of liquid carbon is applied to the face, where it penetrates deep into the pores. A laser is then used to gently heat the carbon, targeting it effectively to remedy a range of complexion conditions, from oily skin and blackheads to fine lines and wrinkles.
  • What Are The Benefits?
Skincare treatments often claim to be a panacea, but the carbon laser facial boasts a multi-faceted array of benefits that have been scientifically attested. Here are some of the transformative outcomes you can anticipate: Skin Rejuvenation By stimulating collagen production, the carbon laser facial effectively tightens skin, irons out fine lines, and leaves behind a youthful radiance that unmistakably announces your skin’s renewal. Acne Reduction For those grappling with acne, the process of targeting and neutralizing excess oil production can significantly reduce the severity and frequency of breakouts, paving the way for clearer skin. Pore Minimization Carbon conducts the laser’s energy, penetrating deeply into the skin to constrict pores and reduce their appearance, giving the face a smoother, more even texture. Brightening and Evening Out Skin Tone Hyperpigmentation, melasma, and age spots are no match for the precision of the carbon laser facial’s corrective energy. It evens out skin tone, bringing out a natural glow that exudes confidence and well-being.
  • Pre-Treatment Preparation
Before your facial, you’ll have a consultation with a skincare professional. They’ll assess your skin health, discuss your desired outcomes, and recommend a personalized treatment plan. In the days or weeks leading up to your session, you might need to avoid sun exposure, discontinue certain skincare products, or take other preparatory measures as advised.
  • The Treatment Process
Once you’re in the treatment room, the aesthetician will cleanse your face to prepare for the carbon application. The carbon, often in a liquid form, is spread evenly across your skin and allowed to dry. The laser is then glided over the treated areas, where it works to resurface the skin and incite the body’s natural healing processes. You may experience a mild prickling or warm sensation, but it’s generally not painful for most individuals.
  • Post-Treatment Care
After your carbon laser facial, your skin will be slightly red, similar to a sunburn. This effect will subside within a few hours, and you can resume your usual activities. It’s crucial to implement a sun protection routine, use soothing post-treatment skincare to hydrate your skin, and avoid any activities that may cause excessive sweating or heat on your face.
  • How Does It Feel? Is it painful?
Patients often liken the sensation of a carbon laser facial to that of a rubber band snapping against the skin. However, as each person’s pain threshold and skin sensitivity are unique, it’s always best to communicate with your provider during the treatment to ensure your comfort. For the majority, it is not considered a painful procedure. As discussed, discomfort is subjective, and individuals may experience the treatment differently. However, detailed conversations with your provider regarding any pain concerns will help tailor the experience to your tolerance level.
  • How Many Sessions are Needed?
The number of sessions required depends on your current skin condition and the desired outcome. Typically, a series of treatments is recommended, spaced a couple of weeks apart, to achieve the best and longest-lasting results. Your provider can give you a personalized recommendation during your consultation.
  • Are There Any Side Effects?
The carbon laser facial is associated with minimal side effects. Redness and a sensation similar to a mild sunburn are the most commonly reported effects, which subside within a day or two. It’s essential to follow post-treatment care instructions to minimize any potential side effects.
  • What is Fibroblasting?
Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical skin tightening procedure. It is a revolutionary way to tighten skin, while improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is considered “soft surgery”, because unlike some other skin tightening cosmetic procedures, no scalpels or other surgical instruments are used. Instead, it uses a plasma device (plasma pen) to trigger a reaction and reduce the volume of excess skin. This non-surgical skin treatment procedure has been safely and effectively used in Europe for many years, and is now gaining popularity throughout the USA. Besides being a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of your skin, it is less expensive than surgical methods. Fibroblast Skin Tightening is the only non-surgical procedure to reduce the volume of excess skin.
  • Does It Hurt?
No. Fibroblast treatment is a non-surgical solution for skin tightening. There is no pain associated with this procedure, though some patients may feel a minimal amount of discomfort. A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area before the procedure.
  • Are There Side Effects?
Immediately after the Fibroblast procedure, you may notice that your skin is red and slightly swollen. This is normal and should subside in around three days. Though you may see a slight redness lingering for up to 14 days. While the procedure is underway, carbon crusts form on the skin. You should avoid the urge to touch these crusts post-procedure. You can expect them to last around a week. They’ll naturally lift off as new skin appears underneath the treated area. When you consider that you’re getting a skin tightening solution without the need for dangerous surgery, these side effects are much easier to swallow.
  • How Long is the Fibroblast Treatment?
Fibroblast treatment length will depend upon the size of the area that’s being treated. You can expect the procedure to take anywhere between half an hour and two hours. A topical numbing cream will be applied before your treatment and given thirty minutes to take full effect. You’ll also be given a cream after your procedure to help in the healing process.
  • How Long Will the Results Take to Show Up?
You should notice results immediately after your appointment. As cell turnover occurs and the production of collagen increases, you’ll notice further changes to your skin. You should expect to see the full results of your treatment after around three months. Fibroblast procedure results typically last for three years.

Avoid any kind of tanning (Spray tanning, tanning injections, sun tanning and tanning beds) for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, you should try to use SPF5O to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker skinned. Avoid any other type of procedures on the same area for two weeks which you intend to have treated with Plasma Pen, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, Botox, fillers, as this may prevent your treatment being performed. No facial acids (Retin A, salicylic, glycolic) 14 days before or 21 days after Plasma Pen No Botox or fillers 21 days before or after Plasma Pen No Micro needling/PRP 21 days before or after Plasma Pen No laser or peels (depending on intensity of peel) for 90 days before or after Plasma Pen Surgical procedures like face lifts you must wait at least 9 months postop/before Plasma Pen. Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor.
  • Aftercare
Following good and consistent aftercare will help ensure the best outcome to your treatment investment! Be patient, be diligent! *Please remember it takes a full 8 weeks to see final result. After dots shed, the skin may appear healed, but that is just the beginning as the skin underneath does its work. It takes 4 weeks for collagen and elastin production to BEGIN! Be patient! Always keep the area clean to avoid infections until the carbon crusts (scabs) have formed and exfoliated on their own. Removing the scabs prematurely will result in scarring. • Ice the treated area (use a clean tea towel/paper towel to cover the ice pack each use) alternating 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off for up to 1 hour for the first 2 days. • Keep the treated area clean using a mild unscented glycerin or Dove unscented soap 2x day (morning & night). Gently splash the area with cool water and very gently cleanse with soap and rinse thoroughly. Use very mild/gentle pressure when cleansing the area. DRY VERY WELL – PAT DRY- KEEP DRY! Make sure the skin feels dry and tight before applying aftercare gel. • Gently apply the aftercare gel (with clean hands or applicator provided) to the treated area as needed to help relieve pain/itching each day until your scabs fall off on their own. • IMPORTANT! Allow scabs to come off on their own. This will ensure the best possible healed result and avoid scarring and infection. Do NOT pick for any reason! • Do not apply makeup (even mineral makeup) until the scabbing is complete. This is to avoid infection or disrupting the scabs prematurely. • IMPORTANT! Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds to the treated area- Once the scabbing process is complete, always apply broad spectrum SPF to the area for a minimum of 3 months after your last treatment. This skin is still healing and can easily become damaged by any UV rays and may cause hyperpigmentation and/or premature aging. • Do NOT apply any home remedies, plasters (liquid bandaid) or ointments other than what is provided to you. This may delay the intended healing process and or cause infection. • Do not workout, swim, hot tub or steam bath until scabs have exfoliated. • BE PATIENT WITH THE HEALING PROCESS AND ALLOW YOURSELF TIME TO REST & HEAL. **Swelling is to be expected after this type of treatment. This is due to the fact that the area will be recovering from a deliberate controlled wound, therefore the natural side effect is swelling. There are steps to minimize swelling (ice and antihistamin), but swelling cannot be avoided. You can’t avoid or cure the swelling- it is a response to trauma. The swelling will subside in a matter of days.
